As a little girl I loved reading books. I would cosy up in my favourite chair with a pile of storybooks around me. My imagination let me escape into each book, and I would have a new adventure with every story. I still love reading today, especially every fall as the weather gets cooler. There's nothing better than being cosy with a good book and a candle burning.

For fall, I was inspired to create our new Storybook scent as a nostalgic escape into the fairy tales I read as a child on cosy fall days. Every scent note was chosen intentionally and blended with care to create something truly special - a nostalgic fall scent perfect for feeling cosy and inspired.

Here's a little peak into the inspiration for each scent note in Storybook:

Apple cinnamon represents the apples seen in many tales, from Snow White to The Golden Bird, and many Celtic and Irish myths. Apples often represented enchantment, life, transformation, knowledge, wisdom, temptation, and love. Apple cinnamon also reminds me of my Mother's baking in the fall, with its sweet and spicy aroma filling our home.

As a child I would often play in the woods near my home, and many stories that I read took place in or near a forest. For example, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Winnie the Pooh, Where the Wild Things Are, and many more. For the Storybook scent, I wanted to recreate the feeling of playing in the woods. Cedarwood is the perfect scent note to represent the woods because of its rich, woody, warm aroma with balsamic undertones. It feels like a nostalgic walk through a forest filled with tall evergreen trees. Cedarwood is also symbolically significant as it is regarded as majestic, sacred, strong, and symbolises protection.

As a child, the most special fairy tales were always in leather-bound books, passed down from generation to generation, or found in unique shops and brought home as gifts. You could smell the rich, warm, and musky scent of leather as you turned each page in the book. To capture this feeling, I used a rich leather scent note that embodies the feeling of holding a soft, worn leather-bound book in your hands.

My favourite stories would always have a happy ending. The protagonist achieving their mission, completing their journey, and living 'happily ever after'.  For Storybook, I used smooth, sweet vanilla musk to represent the happily ever after that we all cheer for. Vanilla is also a comforting scent, reminding me of the perfume my Mother would wear, and of her delicious home baking.

I hope you love our newest scent, Storybook, as much as I loved creating it for you. It's a gentle reminder to celebrate joyful memories and enjoy the little things in life. I hope it inspires you to feel cosy with a good book and a fall scented candle that sparks joy.
